The Tiger
by Jordan B, Tom H & Victoria S
Tigers are superior creatures, although, sadly, they are near to extinction. Tigers have been protected since 1972, which means, it has been illegal to hunt or to buy or sell any goods made from any part of a tiger.

During 1900, there were roughly 45,000 Bengal tigers in the wild and today there's less than 2,500. More

Giant Pandas
by Matthew H & Stephanie B
Giant pandas are extremely rare and there are less than 1,000 left living in the wild. Humans were killing pandas but it has now been banned. The destruction of the giant pandas habitat is when areas are cleared for crop cultivation. This is one of the main reasons for the panda's decline. One of the other reasons is because panda's food source (bamboo) is dying away. Pandas find it difficult to migrate to new feeding areas because they find themselves hemmed in by human settlements. The pandas starve because the bamboo is dying out. More
The Polar Bear

Some Polar bears wonder up to 200km inland. The Polar bears coat of fur varies from bright white to shades of yellow. The Polar has small ears, black eyes and nose. When the Polar is fully-grown its height can reach to 1.6m to its shoulders and its length can reach to 2.2 - 2.5m long. The male can weigh up to 400-500kg and a female's about 300-350kg. Animal Endangerment
By Edward S & Rosemary D
Animals have their own role to play in nature. Humans however have overplayed that role. Every animal eats another but as we are at the top of the food chain we become greedy. We just eat and want more than we need.

The more human kind grows the more we eat.
Every thing possible is eaten. That's not bad however it's the way we find our food that is bad. We fish,we hunt animals of all kinds. More
The Rhinoceros
by Seb P and Rebecca P
The rhinoceros is an endangered species. In 1970 there were 20,000 black rhinos in Kenya alone. Now only 430 have survived. The reason is because illegal poachers brutally slaughter them for their precious ivory. Many breeding programmes have been set up, one of which is by the World Wildlife Federation. However if we want to help we need to set up more programmes. More
