SchoolNet Global children add their voices to those seeking support for the victims of the Earthquake and Tsunami that struck Indonesia, Thailand, and Sri Lanka on December 26, 2004. The unfortunate loss of so many lives in this terrible natural disaster shocked the world. Part of building a sustainable world must include preparation in order to deal with natural disasters, along with a quick response to help the victims when such events occur. When such disasters occur in the developing world, it is clear that the poorer global populations suffer greatly.

What happened to the people where the Tsunami hit is awful. I feel very bad for them. It must have been terrifying to experience. I know because it made me extremely sad to even hear that it happened.

Tsunami Feelings by Halie
Crash, Bang, Boom! And then the water retreated! Hi, this is Halie and I would like to tell you my feelings about the tsunami. In a matter of minutes many houses and buildings were destroyed. The people had done nothing and everything that they owned was lost. Many people only had pictures of their family. Some didn't have even that. A lot of people were lucky to be alive. It was all so sad.
